How is Barbera so outrageously floral and aromatic? Throw this in the esky or fridge for ten or fifteen minutes before getting stuck in. Low in preservative and without any oak influence, this is a wildly cherried, easy drinking summery red for immediate enjoyment. Think kirsch, blueberry syrup, and a fine ridge of graphitey tannin to length.

“Barbera and King Valley sounds about perfect. Violets, damp forest floor, briar rose, fresh button mushrooms. Plenty of crunchy cherries and blueberries flow at the heart of this wine. It all smells fresh and cool, air after the rain and mountain herbs. The fruit is tart, yet the mouthfeel is full of soft round stones and a cool fabric of satin.
